Better known as The Cultural capital of Romania, Iasi, the city which is located between seven hills like Rome and Constantinople, is also the home to the oldest university in the country. With a rich history, Iasi remains the main important economic, social and cultural center in North-Eastern Romania, in the province of Moldavia. If choosing Iasi as your go-city for dental treatment, you can explore the attractions, as this beautiful city has plenty to offer.
The Palace of Culture
Walking down on Stefan cel Mare, the main boulevard of Iasi, you will instantly notice the spectacular Palace of Culture, an emblematic building which stands out amongst the other attractions, outshining with its Neo-gothic architectural style and its monumentality.
Besides its 4 museums (art, ethnography, history and science), the palace can be admired for its impressive rooms: Gothic Room and Voievozilor Room and if you thought you have seen it all, make sure you visit the Clock Tower whose faces are decorated with stained glass representing the 12 astrological signs. Are you afraid of heights? If not, you can admire the fascinating panoramic view from the top of the tower. In the end, what’s not to like about this iconic building?
In the vicinity of the palace, you will discover the Palas Mall with plenty of shops, restaurants, cafes and bars and the Palas Garden where you can spend leisure time in the middle of nature.
The Library of the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University
Ranked by boredpanda.com as the most majestic library in the world, The Library of the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University owns 1 million of volumes, being a work of extraordinary beauty which brings value to the city.
If you happen to find yourself visiting this place and think you are in a dream, we must say that you are not dreaming at all. Visiting both the library and the Hall, which, according to Professor Seghedin is the most beautiful in Romania, costs you nothing. The access is free at any time.
The Iasi National Theatre
Named after the poet and dramatist Vasile Alecsandri, the Iasi National Theatre is an architecture jewellery with an interior decorated in Rococo and Baroque style.
Not only it is included on the Historical Monument List, but, according to the BBC report “Seven theatres that take your breath away”, it also ranks the second among the most beautiful theatre buildings in the world, right after Bristol Hippodrome in Bristol in United Kingdom.
Whether you want to attend a play or listen to the famous “Tosca” by Giacomo Puccini, you will be mesmerized by its real art monuments.
Copou Park and Botanical Gardens
Both located on Copou hill, Copou Park and Botanical Gardens are popular destinations for tourists.
Considered a place full of history and also romantic moments, Copou Park is the first public garden in Romania and it has to be visited especially in the spring or the fall. Mihai Eminescu, the greatest Romanian poet, would write poems under a 500 years old linden tree, which later became the main attraction, situated in the center of the park right next to the Obelisk of Lions.
Offering a variety of roses, orchid gardens, tropical flowers and even carnivorous plants, the Botanical Gardens are the oldest in Romania and the largest- 100hectares. Taking a long walk there will guarantee you a relaxing experience. This place is probably the best for taking great pictures and preserving memories especially around golden hour.
